About Our Club

Soroptimist International - Fond du Lac was founded in 1952. We are women of various ages, professions, faiths, and interests who come together around issues that affect women and girls such as education, human trafficking, water access, hygiene supplies, FGM, domestic abuse, aging issues, and more. We work to promote awareness of women's issues, support women and girls in their lives, education, and professional journeys, and enjoy fellowship and friendship with all of our Soroptimist sisters both locally and around the world.

We hold dinner meetings for members the first Wednesday of each month during September to June, and host a variety of social, service, and fundraising activities throughout the year. See the Activities tab for details, and the Awards/Contact tab to find links to opportunities for financial support for your education, or let us know you're thinking of joining!

Our focus is on education because educated women and girls are:

less vulnerable to sex traffickers

more likely to leave a domestic violence situation and not return

able to access healthcare

less likely to live in poverty

able to raise stronger, healthier families

We empower women through our dream programs:

1

Dream It, Be It: Career Support for Girls gives girls the tools they need to achieve their education and career goals, empowering them to break cycles of poverty, violence, and abuse. Dream It, Be It equips girls to overcome their obstacles, set goals, and head towards success.

Soroptimist's Live Your Dream Awards program is a unique education award for women who provide the primary financial support for their families. The Live Your Dream Awards give women the resources they need to improve their education, skills and employment prospects.

The DreamCaster Video Contest Awards are given to girls every year who are attending their 11th or 12th grade of high school in Fond du Lac and Dodge Counties. For a chance to win, they are to submit a short video explaining how the award will improve their circumstances as well as their community's.
